The Forum

Sick Cells hosted our 2022 Sick Cells Ambassador Policy Forum on March 22nd – 23rd, 2022. This event included advocacy workshops and trainings that equipped advocates with tools for state and federal policy efforts. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet with their federal legislators, share their unique stories, and learned about sickle cell issues and recommendations.

  • Day One (March 22nd) hosted the advocacy training day on Zoom from 11 AM – 2 PM EST.
  • Day Two (March 23rd) hosted the Virtual Hill Day. Attendees visited Capitol Hill in DC from the comfort of their homes! Attendees met with their federal legislators to educate them about sickle cell disease issues and recommendations.

We offered a web-based platform for Ambassadors to use during their virtual Hill Day appointments. They were able to:
  • Access their schedules
  • Customize talking points
  • Read legislator bios and information
  • Upload one-pagers
  • Connect to the virtual meeting rooms.

We are excited to be able to offer this new feature to our Ambassadors!
